NORTH CAROLINA
ARRIVING BY PLANE:
Please make sure your flight arrives so that you have plenty of time to get to Ridgecrest by 4pm (ET) on Monday May 5.
The closest airport is the Asheville Regional Airport (AVL), several major airlines fly here. Ridgecrest is about 35 mins away from AVL. You can also fly into the Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT). It is a bigger airport but about 1 hour and 50 mins away.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION:
The MPDRR team created a document so that you can share your travel info and coordinate rides from the airport to Ridgecrest. If you are struggling with finding a ride please reach out to us at mpdrr@cru.org. You can rent a car and share it with other New Staff to drive from AVL to Ridgecrest. You might be able to get an Uber/Lyft from AVL to Ridgecrest but the ride back from Ridgecrest to AVL might be hard to get an Uber/Lyft because it is so far outside the city limits. If you fly in CLT you definitely need to rent a car.
