Basic Schedule for IBS & NSO Winter 2020:

Senior Staff for IBS & NSO
Senior Staff members who are married to/marrying a New Staff member (who is attending IBS and NSO) will be a part of the New Staff Orientation conference team. You will need to arrive on Sunday, January 12 by 3 p.m. (no additional cost will be incurred for arriving early). You will receive additional information by email in late December.

Worship Team for IBS & NSO
Those serving on the Worship Team for IBS & NSO will need to arrive on Saturday, January 11 (no additional cost will be incurred for arriving early). Drums/percussion and a keyboard will be provided. We ask that all other musicians bring their instruments. If this causes additional travel costs, please email Glen Nielsen (NSO Operations Director) at glen.nielsen@cru.org to discuss options. You will receive additional information by email in late December.

AV Team for IBS & NSO
Those serving on the AV Team for IBS & NSO will need to arrive on Saturday, January 11 (no additional cost will be incurred for arriving early). You will receive additional information by email in late December.

Basic Schedule for IBS & NSO – All Four Weeks:

January 11: AV Team and Worship Team arrives (you will not be charged additional housing costs for arriving early)
January 12: Senior Staff married to New Staff couples arrive (you will not be charged additional housing costs for arriving early)
January 12/13: New Staff Orientation Participants (who have not been commissioned yet) taking IBS classes arrive
(You are encouraged to arrive on January 12 to allow enough time to prepare, get settled, and buy groceries for this four-week conference. If you choose to arrive on January 13, please ensure that you arrive at the El Caribe by 3 p.m.)
**Please Note** This is not for Returning New Staff who have already been commissioned. See below for your arrival information.

  • January 13: Onsite Registration in Room 1301 from 5-6 p.m.
  • January 13: First NSO Session:
    • 7 p.m. in the Caribbean Room, first floor on the south end of the hotel
    • Children welcome to attend (no childcare is offered)
  • January 14:
    • NSO Late Registration, 10:00-10:30 a.m. in Room 1301
    • IBS Orientation, 7 p.m.

January 14: Returning New Staff (who have already been commissioned) taking IBS courses arrive:

  • Onsite Registration will be in Room 1301 from 4-6 p.m.
  • IBS Orientation, 7 p.m.
  • If flights won’t work for you to arrive at the El Caribe on January 14 by 4 p.m., you are welcome to arrive a day early.

January 15-29: Intro to Christian Theology and Bible Study Methods classes
(8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
January 29-February 2: Winter MPD Faith and Finances Conference
(Onsite Registration info will be emailed to those attending only the MPD Faith and Finances Conference. The Faith and Finances content will end at 6 p.m. on February 1.)
January 30: Ministry Day
January 31 – February 9New Staff Orientation
February 4-8MPD training

February 8: New Staff Commissioning Ceremony and Banquet
February 9: Check-out prior to 10 a.m.

Basic Schedule for New Staff Orientation (Only)

January 29: Campus Ministry and AIA New Staff Orientation Participants arrive
If flights won’t work for you to arrive at the El Caribe on January 29, you are welcome to arrive a day early. Make sure to allow enough time to get settled and buy necessary groceries

  • Campus Ministry and AIA NSO Participants Onsite Registration:
    Conference Office / Room 1201 (Trinidad boardroom), Thursday, January 30 (1-2 p.m.)
  • First Session for Campus Ministry and AIA NSO Participants:
    Thursday, January 30 (2 p.m.)

January 30: All other New Staff Orientation Participants arrive
If flights won’t work for you to arrive at the El Caribe on January 30, you are welcome to arrive a day early. Make sure to allow enough time to get settled and buy necessary groceries

  • All other NSO Participants Onsite Registration:
    Conference Office / Room 1201 (Trinidad boardroom), Friday, January 31 (8-9 a.m.)
  • First Session for all other NSO Participants:
    Friday, January 31 (9 a.m.)

*MPD Training Schedule
The schedule for the MPD Training will be 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

On Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday evenings, participants will work with other staff members on various assignments.

Although the training schedule is robust, we trust each participant will see God meet with him or her in transformational ways.
