Basic Schedule (Summer)

IBS & New Staff Orientation | Summer 2020:

Senior Staff for IBS & NSO
Senior Staff members who are married to/marrying a New Staff member (who is attending IBS and NSO) will be a part of the New Staff Orientation conference team. You will need to arrive on Sunday, June 21 by 3 p.m. (no additional cost will be incurred for arriving early). You will receive additional information by email in late May.

Worship Team for IBS & NSO
Those serving on the Worship Team for IBS & NSO will need to arrive on Saturday, June 20 (no additional cost will be incurred for arriving early). Drums/percussion and a keyboard will be provided. We ask that all other musicians bring their instruments. If this causes additional travel costs, please email Glen Nielsen (NSO Operations Director) at glen.nielsen@cru.org to discuss options. You will receive additional information by email in late May.

AV Team for IBS & NSO
Those serving on the AV Team for IBS & NSO will need to arrive on Saturday, June 20 (no additional cost will be incurred for arriving early). You will receive additional information by email in late May.

Basic Schedule for New Staff Training (IBS and NSO) – All Four Weeks:

June 20: AV Team and Worship Team arrives (you will not be charged additional housing costs for arriving early)
June 21:
 Senior Staff married to New Staff couples arrive (you will not be charged additional housing costs for arriving early)
June 21/22: New Staff Orientation Participants (who have not been commissioned yet) taking IBS classes arrive
(You are encouraged to arrive on June 21 to allow enough time to prepare and get settled for this four-week conference. If you choose to arrive on June 22, please ensure that you arrive at Rollins College by 4 p.m.)
**Please Note** This is not for Returning  New Staff who have already been commissioned. See below for your arrival information.

  • June 22: Onsite Registration in Elizabeth Hall from 5-6 p.m.
  • June 22: First NSO Session:
    • 7 p.m. in Dave’s Boathouse (in the basement of the Cornell Campus Center, #325 on the Rollins Campus Map)
    • Children welcome to attend (no childcare is offered)
  • June 23:
    • NSO Late Registration in Elizabeth Hall from 3-6 p.m.
    • IBS Orientation, 7 p.m.

June 23: Returning New Staff (who have already been commissioned) taking IBS courses arrive:

  • Onsite Registration will be in Elizabeth Hall from 3-6 p.m.
  • IBS Orientation, 7 p.m.
  • If flights won’t work for you to arrive at Rollins College on June 23 by 3 p.m., you are welcome to arrive a day early.

June 24 – July 8: Intro to Christian Theology and Bible Study Methods classes (8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
July 7 – 9: Transitions Conference (See Transitions Conference page for more details.)
July 9: Ministry Day
July 10 – 18: New Staff Orientation
July 14 – 18: MPD training
(Onsite Registration info will be emailed to those attending only the MPD training.)

July 18: Commissioning and Banquet
July 19: Check-out prior to 10 a.m.

July 8: Campus Ministry New Staff Orientation Participants arrive
If flights won’t work for you to arrive at Rollins College on July 8, you are welcome to arrive a day early. Be sure to note the date in your registration.

  • Campus Ministry NSO Participants Onsite Registration:
    Elizabeth Hall, Thursday, July 9 (1-2 p.m.)
  • First Session for Campus Ministry NSO Participants:
    Thursday, July 9 (2 p.m.) in the Mary Jane Plaza (#205 on the Rollins Campus Map)

July 8: AIA New Staff Orientation Participants arrive
If flights won’t work for you to arrive at Rollins College on July 8, you are welcome to arrive a day early. Be sure to note the date in your registration.

  • AIA NSO Participants Onsite Registration:
    Thursday, July 9 (Time and Location TBD)
  • First Session for AIA NSO Participants:
    Thursday, July 9 (Time and Location TBD)

July 9: All other New Staff Orientation Participants arrive

    Elizabeth Hall, Friday, July 10 (8-9 a.m.)
  • First Session for all other NSO Participants:

July 10 – 18: New Staff Orientation (Mary Jane Plaza #205 on the Rollins Campus Map)
July 14 – 18: MPD training

July 19: Check-out prior to 10 a.m.

*MPD Training Schedule
MPD training will start at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday – Friday (ending times will vary), and will run 9-12:30 on Saturday

On Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday evenings, participants will work with other staff members on various assignments.

Although the training schedule is robust, we trust each participant will see God meet with him or her in transformational ways.
